Do you know what a Cenaduría is?  A Cenaduría is a place that serves meals at dinner time  "lugar donde sirven cenas" in Spanish. The main difference between a cenaduría and a restaurant is that a cenaduria is only open for the evening meal, while a restaurant is usually  also open for breakfast and lunch. A cenaduria is usually also less expensive than a restaurant.

Some of the meals that are served in a cenaduria  are found only at dinner time and are usually "antojitos" [snacks].   Some of the typical antojitos of Barra de Navidad are pozole, tacos dorados, tostadas, sopes, beef tacos,  head tacos and tripe tacos (tacos de cabeza y tripa).  Places that sell hamburgers and hot dogs are also quite popular. Going to a cenaduria for Mexican people is considered a treat and you would not  go every night.

Have you noticed that some meals are sold only at specific times in some places in Mexico? For example , it will be hard to find carnitas, tortas ahogadas and pollo asado (grilled chicken) at dinner time or even after 4:00 p.m. or before 10:00 am.  These three meals are served specifically  for lunch time.

On the other hand birria  is eaten at breakfast and lunch time, but specific parts of the birria you would not find them at lunch. "Dorada" for example,  is sold for breakfast, while  menudo is served only in the morning, not for lunch.
